Hand Carved Clay Bee Encased in a Resin Seal Enhanced with Antique Gold

I love these! I started the jewelry end of my business years ago when my painting customers were asking for remembrance pieces. Most of these pieces required me to paint or sculpt bees, butterflies and dragonflies.  

This is the evolution of that.  I have been working with resin for some time now as a florist using my dried flowers and this is a great use for this medium.  

I carved the bee from a burnt orange clay blend, after curing filled with resin and brushed with antique gold for this old-world seal effect.  the pendant measures about an inch and the 20 inch antiqued brass chain is closed with a delicate brass toggle.
